Alex, while I respect your opinions and knowledge, this particular fact is incorrect:
"Everyone else just has a single asterisk box and a PRI from a carrier (in the best case) or a single asterisk box and SIP termination/origination from someone who has a PRI." Some of us do have a clue ;) Michael Young -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, April 07, 2005 1:27 PM To: Commercial and Business-Oriented Asterisk Discussion Subject: Re: [Asterisk-biz] $19.95/mo unlimited US IAX termination On Thu, 7 Apr 2005, Herman Webley wrote: > > > We prefer that you run a version of Asterisk that supports IAX > > > transfers. Because there are no large carriers that buy/sell IAX termination. None of softswitches support IAX - so you end up with someone who is ghetto-rigging a cluster of 50 asterisk boxes to try to load-balance traffic. Not to say it wouldn't work - but you need a very high amount of clue to get it done right. And I think out of people on this list, there's only one who can (jerjer). Everyone else just has a single asterisk box and a PRI from a carrier (in the best case) or a single asterisk box and SIP termination/origination from someone who has a PRI. When you are three times removed from the actual TDM PSTN connectivity, you are bound to lose. -alex _______________________________________________ Asterisk-Biz mailing list [email protected] http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-biz _______________________________________________ Asterisk-Biz mailing list [email protected] http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-biz
