I think for once, Alex, you and I agree on something.
I also want to point out that anybody can make money using and improving Asterisk. Only if you want/need to hold on to the source code for any reason, you have to work with Digium to get a non-gpl license (as is the case with SS7 and G.729)
People that have a problem with the commercial deployment of Asterisk very simply do not understand the GPL.
