Furthermore, you really need to do some traffic shaping at the router level (can be done with a fairly inexpensive Linux box) using VoIP concurrently with internet traffic.
Shaping means that the box will prioritize VoIP properly, so somebody uploading or downloading large files won't kill your conversation.
