John - as mentioned specifically in Garrett's email, we are marketing
these on the behalf of an ITSP who purchased a large quantity of
SPA-2000's before the model was discontinued by Sipura. It is common for
large service providers to stockpile ATA's, based upon their forecasted
customer uptake.
In this case, their business model has changed a bit, and they are
moving to a new device that they will be using on the customer prem, so
they are left with this excess inventory of SPA-2000's, which we are
liquidating for them to assist them in recouping some of their
investment in this inventory.
Sipura's current model is the SPA-2002, but the SPA-2000, as most will
attest to here, is a very capable device, nearly identical in form
factor and feature set to the 2002.
