I think he means doing a low foot print / high number installation of asterisk servers using a CompactPCI type system.
 
Asterisk on a blade would be similar if you could get a blade T1 interface..

I'm not entirely sure what you mean by "compact PCI architecture"  Do you mean Asterisk hardware for Compact PCI Like a T1 card?

I just spoke with the CEO of a company whom is a telephony board manufacturer and I was asked if anyone has successfully integrated Asterisk into a Compact PCI architecture? From the sounds of it I think that the only people who may have done something would be Sysmaster, but I am curious to find out if anyone has done it on their own. I may have an immediate need for a low level programmer to integrate Asterisk into this type of architecture. Any thoughts or comments would be deeply appreciated.
