Our consulting rate is $90 an hour. That keeps 4 of us busy between 7 and 10 hours a day.
However many of our best customers started as individuals or small companies evaluating whether asterisk or some other solution was right for them. We may have taken a risk with losing money with them by doing some sort of pro bono or low pay work to help them out and in the long run it has paid off. I am not saying every one has to have this same philosophy but I am saying that it can be a very sound and rewarding proposition. We no longer look at individual jobs like "Will we make $30 or $300 dollars from this job". We look at clients like "Will this be a benificial relationship". Jonathan, More power to you. If you think you can provide a good service and you feel you are being compensated enough then that is good business in my opinion. It dont mean that either of them are lesser beings than the $200 / hour guys that have a tendency to put their noses in the air. Sure this is the Biz list, but we're also a community ffs. /Danny Paul wrote: > In most cases it turns out there is no adequate backup of the system > they want me to work on.
