And I won't argue about whether you did it first, because I don't
care. I'll just regard your assertion as axiomatic, which raises the
question of whether "imitators" as you chose to label one of your
competitors, might have had the benefit of learning from your mistakes
after having had the opportunity to test your production product.

Bill,
Well, it's pretty much
impossible to argue with that assertion. I would not claim that it
isn't obvious, only that it's a good idea and we did it first.
My main point is that it can be
tricky to make these things work properly, and we have a production
tested product.
Your device looks like a good product. But I suspect that many, if not
most of the subscribers to this list regard the concept as pretty
obvious. I think you are indulging in a conceit to declare the Xorcom
device to be an imitation of your product, regardless of how long
you've been selling it.

The TS-1 is a pretty transparent attempt to cash in on the success of our
VS-1 Asterisk Voice Server. Of course, imitation is the sincerest form of
flattery, but flash-based systems have to be designed correctly or they
won't last. If you want something that has been proven in production for
almost two years now, take a look at the original:

These machines have enough horsepower to handle a small business. The VS-1
provides additional storage for configuration, voicemail, CDR's, log files,

This unit looks nice:

It's not very powerful but I'm sure it's more than enough as
a clever SOHO end point, say to manage SIP phones properly.
You probably still have to do voicemail IP-centrex style though.
Any ideas about pricing?
Cheers,
Jean-Michel.
