Mr. or Mrs. "Lists" -- I don't think you understood what Robert was saying. It is not Junction's carrier that is playing the message. It is the carrier of the company that makes the call that is playing the message.
If you had dialed one of the DIDs that was down from an SBC line, you would have gotten "this number has been disconnected or no longer in service". If you had called from a Sprint cell phone, you would have gotten, "this number is currently unavailable." Junction can't get Sprint, SBC, Verizon, etc to change the message they play when they call a Junction number (actually, a number from Junction's upstream, which I think is Level3) that is not being delivered. Unfortunately, we have the same problem via Level3. Sergey's solution might be the best one, I'm going to my Level3 rep to ask if that is possible. Agreed, that is just plain bad business and Junction is a customer and customers should be able to get things fixed vs. just blaming on where they get their service from vs. trying to address the issues for their own customers. That's just plain unacceptable, it's time to fix the issue vs. blaming it on the uplink. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Rusty Dekema Sent: Tuesday, February 21, 2006 6:46 PM To: Commercial and Business-Oriented Asterisk Discussion Subject: Re: [asterisk-biz] Junction DOWN? If Junction Networks has no direct control over messages heard when it does not receive a call from a carrier, perhaps Junction Networks should get in touch with its inbound carriers and ask them to do something other than play a message saying that the number has been disconnected when they cannot deliver a call to Junction Networks. If they will not do this, perhaps Junction Networks should choose different inbound carriers in the future, lest businesses begin choosing other VoIP carriers than Junction Networks. It is not acceptable to most businesses for their callers to ever get a "This number has been disconnected" message no matter which telephone company's immediate fault it is. -Rusty On 2/21/06, Robert Wolpov <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > When Junction Networks does not receive a call from a carrier, Junction > Networks has no control over any messages heard on the call. > > If you or anyone has any questions, please feel free to contact me directly. > > Regards, > > Rob Wolpov > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > 215-701-3050 ext. 7002 > > > > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Lists > Sent: Tuesday, February 21, 2006 5:39 PM > To: 'Commercial and Business-Oriented Asterisk Discussion' > Subject: RE: [asterisk-biz] Junction DOWN? > > Why can't a fast busy be received by the calling party.
