Invitation of offers/proposals for grant Zonal License for PSTN services in the
Central Zone
* The Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) invites
offers/proposals from Bangladeshi companies/firms or joint venture
companies
with Bangladeshi partners, or overseas companies with 100% Foreign
Investment
having experience in the telecommunication sector for grant of Zonal PSTN
Operator License to establish, maintain and operate such systems for the
general
use of the public in the Central Zone i.e, the Dhaka Multi-Exchange Area
(DMEA) consisting of Dhaka city, Zinzira, Savar, Barayanganj district head
quarter, Gazipur district head quarter and Tongi.
* Incase of Bangladeshi companies/firms (with or without partners), the
offer/proposal for PSTN services in the Central Zone should be submitted by
those companies/firms which are registered with the Registrar of Joint
Stock
Companies and Firms, as well as with the concerned chamber of Commerce and
Industries and hold a certificate of the Income Tax for the year 2004-2005.
Copies of the certification of registration and income tax paid for the
year 2004-
2005 should be submitted with the proposal/offer.
* In case of foreign companies (with or without partners), the offer/proposal
for
PSTN services in the Central Zone should be submitted by those companies
which are registered with the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies and Firms
or
equivalent as well as with the concerned Chamber of Commerce and Industries
or
equivalent, in those countries. Copies of the certification of registration
as well as
a certificate from the Board of Investment (BOI) Bangladesh regarding the
investment to be made should be submitted with the proposal/offer.
* All offers/proposals submitted date : 30-04-2006.
* The Commission shall follow the Licensing procedure for issue of Zonal PSTN
Licences for the Central Zone as given in the Regulatory and Licensing
procedure for issue of Zonal PSTN Licences for the Central Zone as given in
operating PSTN services in the Central Zone i.e, the Dhaka Multi-Exchange
Area
(DMEA) consisting of Dhaka city, Zinzira, Savar, Narayanganj district head
quarter, Gazipur district head quarter and Tongi.
