Not everyone gets "ripped off". Follow a few basic business principals
and you don't have problems and headaches.

If you know your "business" and if you "know your customer" you can
provide this service and make a few dollars in the process.
Don't play the "cheap" game. Be selective in who you provide the
service to.

Good customers will pay a premium for your knowledge, skill and service.
Commodity customers won't.

Lol-shortly followed by being ripped off by credit card fraud,
complaining customers, faulty service and nothing but headaches.

I think you should always consider what is the reason for you wanting to
get into this space in the first place?

What value add do you bring to the table?

Cheers,

Dean

Hello,

No need to buy an expensive package to get into the hosted PBX business.

You can easily set up your own linux server and install a low cost or
free web based management system.

If you are going for an IP only service then there is no need for Digium
hardware either.

I suggest you take a very good look at Thirdlanes latest Multi-Tenant
PBX Manager. Easy to install and gives you management

interfaces for the system administrator, tenant (customer) and
individual phone users.

Needs no SQL database, no Apache, no PHP and no extra Perl modules.

Sign up with a wholesale provider like Junction, Teliax or PacWest and
you could be in business by tomorrow.

Mike

If you are looking for a full featured system that can be installed on
your own hardware, please consider Thirdlane PBX Manager multi-tenant
version.

www.enswitch.com is what you want
what have you been offered?

Susan Swanson wrote:

Okay, this is probably a stupid question for you guys but I am still a
novice so don't laugh!

We want to provide a hosted PBX solution for small businesses and have
been offered 200 extensions held server (i.e. 20 companies with each co.
having 10 extensions).

Isn't this just an asterisk solution that we are being sold through a
middle man?

Can't we do this in house by purchasing our own server and purchasing
licenses and perhaps hardware from Digium?

Any guidance is greatly appreciated!

Susan
