No cost. window all version include pptp client. and pptp server on
linux is opensource.

no cost yes, but I am pretty sure some part of the windows integration
was heavily limited unless you pay some microsoft license somewhere.
Are you sure? Maybe my information is out of date.


        Have you looked at http://www.openvpn.org and ipsec
        implementations?
        They can be made to 'dial' too.

if you want to use openvpn windows client not easy.
http://openvpn.se/install.txt
but if you bundle  some equipment like a Linksys WRT54G you can add
openvpn inside.

It really is well worth the effort. It's stable, clever, robust and
secure. And the openvpn guis make the installation dead simple.
