The US patent system is so screwed up that they will issue patents for
anything. Common sense and logic are not in their vocabulary.
There is one and only one way the big corporations can fight open
source in the US, and I'd say they're using it to their best advantage
right now.

I did not think it would last unchallenged, but I am sure it will last
once the case and dust settle (even if that requires some restructuring
and appeals).
