There is no publicly available idefisk 2.0 available for linux yet. (but its nearly there, we just need to add the skinning system, which will take about a month). Then it will do g729 on linux.

    Craig,

I use the beta OSX version and it supports g729, although it
describes it as gsm. When I enable gsm, my asterisk server makes
use of my g729a codec licenses. Do you have a gsm option in the
the Windows or the Linux versions?

X-Lite for Linux doesn't support G729 (either does the Windows

Also the Linux version isn't the same build as the Windows version.

    Tomer,

There are quite a few of these, but the best recognized of them
is the X-Lite or EyeBeam phone from Counterpath. Here's a link to
    information:

I hope that this is helpful.

    Hello,

Any recommendations for a Linux softphone that supports g729

    (/licensing) and Asterisk (SIP/IAX2) compatible ?

    Thanks, Tomer.
