Here is a service that might be of interest for low volume but high
potential for converting web traffic to income potential. I think they
charge $.15/pm but depending on usage and no startup fees, that might
not really be that much.
I also like that it does not use an embedded java applet but uses
regular phones. I am not sure how many people are going to put on their
headset with mic to call you through a web based softphone.
They were a little rude to me on the phone but I assume that is because
they took a look at my website and involvement in Asterisk and thought I
was some sort of competitor. Asterisk has that effect with some people ;-)
www.zifftalk.com
BTW, I am in no way affiliated with this company and have never used
them. They just provide a very low cost startup click to dial
functionality. No idea how well it works though. Of course you could
just FTP a call file to your Asterisk server from the information posted
from a webpage to do the same thing.
Thanks,
Steve

Hi Mark,
Yep depending on the volume of calls and the commercial aspects of
your business £1,100 can be a little bit too much – Where in the USA
are you located? Who do you currently use as your ITSP?
It’s been very frustrating that no service providers in the USA have
as yet become an ASP of the Mexuar Corraleta service (especially as
they buy it at the same price at £1,100 per server and can resell it
to as many people as their server can handle). Please note I cc’d in
the Asterisk list so maybe someone will step up to the plate when they
read your reply as to location.
The reason Mexuar chose to only offer the ASP service in the UK was
that we were wanting to partner with multiple ITSP’s in each geography
and although I’ve had at least 10 ITSP’s in the USA ask about the
product since the launch 6 months ago we have yet to have one of them
offer it country wide (2 carrier customers offer it in their local area).
I’m sure someone will work out the opportunity in the next 2 months
which will be good as I have a list of smaller customers waiting to
sign up with an ASP provider.

Hi Dean,
Yes, yes. Exactly what I was looking for. I was kind of curious when
the SDK only was offered, but I now understand that the ASP version is
only in the UK.
I'm going to meet with our web developers at the end of the month to
discuss strategies as to how to update an old and getting older Active
Server Pages .Net application that is our means of processing
applications. I will be tasking them to implement Click-to-Call on the
marketing side of web site.
I gotta be honest with you, $2K is more than I had in mind for the
traffic that we get. Please keep me in mind if there is a service
provider here in the States that will offer it as a service as that
seems workable to use as we, hopefully, grow traffic and prospects.
Thank you. The product is exactly what I'm looking for so I'm sure
we'll be in touch again.
Regards,
Mark R. Millsap

Hi Mark,
Thanks for your enquiry, great application for client screening as
there are no charges for the call (obviously as it’s just using
bandwidth from the clients pc to your asterisk server) and you can
initiate calls from either your webpage or from emails (see attached pdf).
You mention that you don’t currently have asterisk installed – have
you selected a system integrator to install this for you yet? If not
what part of the world are you in and I’ll find someone locally who
can assist you with this. Regardless of who you go with it is very
easy for them to install Mexuar Corraleta as part of your asterisk
installation. I have attached the installation guide but if you’re
like me and not a programmer…it’s all greek J - however it’s a very
easy installation and very flexible should take about 20-30 mins
depending on your configuration.
You should also probably involve your web developer as the look and
feel of the client is configurable to your html design.
As for Mexuar Corraleta pricing the SDK is licensed Per Server (it’s
tied to the external IP address of your server when you order the
license), apart from this however there are no restrictions.
You are free to;
· modify the look and feel,
· host multiple companies eg. ASP,
· No restrictions on number of CPU’s or throughput capacity.
Each server license is £1,100 and payment is possible via
amex/visa/mastercard.
There is some more technical information located at
http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/Mexuar
I’ve also attached two example pdf’s on how the application can be
used outside of the standard click to talk on a web page example (eg
click to talk from email and voipify your website for forums)
Feel free to give me a call should you be wanting to discuss with
other Asterisk application development consultants but I’m if you are
working with someone already they will be able to implement this for you.

Dean Collins
