I would also highly reccommend a upgraded model like the 430, 501 or 601 or the new models. I just wanted to answer your specific question which was "do they work". If your client clearly understands the features and limitations of the 301 then you won't be replacing phones after your intitial install. Nonetheless, IP430's are better.

The 301 is not a very good phone when compared to the rest of Polycom's line.
