I've helped a customer of mine to deal with VZ's SIP implementation. There's nothing to it. It's straight SIP with IPSEC tunnel thrown into it. Once IPSEC part is done, sip just worked. For anyone with half a clue, it isn't an issue.
Alex, Was your setup anything like this: Asterisk<--->LAN/VPNdevice/WAN<---Internet---->Verizon With IPSEC running over the Internet between the WAN interface and Verizon?
