I would be very careful on making statement like this. I know a lot and I mean a lot of Tier1 providers rely on asterisk for their voip and even 3 stars hotel having asterisk for all their telephone lines.
Asterisk is very reliable and does what it says on the can. Sometimes the problem is the user. I had done an asterisk box in the past that has Flash Disk as storage and had it running a 20 people calls center for over 3 and a bit years without a single reboot or problem. And speak of such they are still using it right now. It does full IVR with calls recording on another separate Hardisk. At the end of the day, it is really depend on the hardware combination as well as the software setup rather than just making statement like I would not trust asterisk on 100% etc.. or even 90%.. It makes me laugh sometimes.
