3Com already has a large distribution chain for PBXes. Anyways, applying proprietary like restrictions on "port" usage will not work if people know that they are artificial and do some research on Asterisk.
I guess they must have licensed Asterisk from Digium to do this. I don't see it flying too well. I guess time will tell. Dooood, you got a Dell PBX, lol.
