The brand isn't useful unless there is traffic and people searching for it and new customers become the new owners customers, whereas the existing customers do not come with it. If there is "10 new customers a day with no ad spend just based on the brand and the site" then you're selling something different. If you are selling a billing platform and a switch, the domain/website is kind of useless unless it's something like vonage.com, or gets a lot of traffic that converts to customers.
