Patch the port to support it then submit the patch to the maintainer (I have done so with some other improvements -- I didn't get a reply and I don't see them committed, but maybe something will happen to them someday).
I'd also really love to see a port of AMP since it has many dependencies and therefore is a real pain to install manually.
