Hopefully I'm not too far off topic for this list. Forgive and/or flame me if I am.
Astbill's installation paths seem to be setup and hard coded for a linux installation. Although these paths will work with FreeBSD, I don't think they are in accourdance with hier(7). I've appended the areas I think may be problems. My question is, how are other FreeBSDers handling this. I did the old 'ln -s' thing, but that doesn't sit well with me. I looked through the config files but didn't see a way to change the default paths. Anyone out there with an Astbill install that follows hier(7) standards? On a side note, I was thinking of trying to get astbill into ports (after fixing these issues). Anyone think that is (or isn't) worth the effort? Places where astbill *may* not follow hier(7): - The first thing I noticed right off the bat is that it uses '/etc/asterisk' instead of '/usr/local/etc/asterisk'. - It also uses '/var/lib/asterisk' when I think that it is supposed to use '/usr/local/lib/asterisk'. - Finally, afaik, the real meat of astbill can go pretty much anywhere you want. But the docs recommend '/usr/home/astbill' w/ a symlink from your webroot to /usr/local/www/astbill/wwwroot. I would think that it should be '/usr/local/www/astbill', with '/usr/local/www/astbill/wwwroot' being my webroot. I'm *really* unsure about that one though.
