asterisk 1.4 should be released on BSD when it becomes a digium release.
right now it's in beta, so let's wait for the bugs to get worked out.
also, once zaptel-linux stabilizes with all the bugs worked out, i'll work
on porting the new functionality to BSD as well for another big sync with
the zaptel-linux drivers.
do be patient, and do assist in testing and feedback when they're released.
