You might try code profiling with something like cprof or even a call
tracer like ltrace.
furthermore does anyone have documentation regarding the Asterisk code
and its *FLOW *as the Comments in the files are not providing enough
knowledge.
Asterisk has some pretty clean code compared a beast like Sendmail or
BIND :-)
