trying to connect asterisk to a Swyx (dot com) server, I cannot
send the call through to the swyx, always getting a 404. The swyx
people tell me:
These call is rejected on swyxware side, because the provider
uses a non
rfc compatible kind of addressing in the sip invite packet:
~INVITE sip:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:
using an ip-adresse instead of a realm is not allowed by RFC.
Is this so? If so, how can I fix this?
After ra few emails forth and back to/from swyx, they say this
yes - using the IP address in a sip URI is possible, but your
Provider [asterisk]
uses the IP Adress of the SwyxServer in the uri ~INVITE
sip:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:65002 SIP/2.0
thats the wrong part - he must use a) his realm or b) his public IP
address.
thanks for any help
btw, this is not the realm, they mean SIP domain. "Realm" is only
used in
authentication. Please ask them to read the RFC :-)
The Swyx server seems to me to have some strange things in their
implementation.
/O
