Along the same lines, we introduced a backward compatibility function in 1.6.0, whereby app_set, res_agi, and pbx_realtime all could continue to use 1.4's method of separating arguments with a pipe instead of a comma. Those compatibility functions were always intended to be a temporary fix to avoid breaking people while they upgraded from 1.4 to 1.6.x.
