I can log into the gui with the user id and password given in the manager.conf.
I do not see any way to setup the global settings for sip. Also, is there an
option for provisioning polycom phones?

About the updating, this is after I log into the system and press support. On
the support page, I am given another user id and password. I think this is the
rpath page. What is the user id and password for this page?

Thanks

Eric

With voicemail phone gets a SIP NOTIFY message - then it increments the
voicemail by 1 on the 55i

Why not do this with missed calls - all phones in ring group if no one
picks up receive:
        SIP NOTIFY missed_call:212344 john 0765432445

The 212334 being a unique identifier to so the pbx can track it
John the name of who rang
0765432445 the telephone number of the missed caller

Then when someone deletes the missed call from there phone the pbx can
send out a SIP NOTIFY request using the unique identifier the other
phones that this has been delt with and to delete id:212334 i.e
        SIP NOTIFY missed_call_delete:212344

This is probably more an asterisk thing so can one of you guy's pass it
up the lader and see if we can get this added to asterisk? As its the
ip pbx of choose this may then become a standard and may start being
built into phones firmware.

What phone are you using?
The gxp-2000`s have a setting in the phone configuration dealing with
missed calls. I have it turned off on the phones in our proshop because
they are in a ring group.

The other option that I have wanted to try was to program a virtual
extension 6001, and then add that number to the blf keys on the side of
the phone(6090). Place 6001 in the ring group, but not 6090. It should
allow 6090 to pickup the call, but not record it as a missed call.

A ring group dials all the phones.

You want to make an IVR that dials each phone after one does not pickup.

Thinking about it someone said on here that you could have virtual
extensions + if no one picks up in the ring goup it would say missed
call

Hey Stephen,

This is not purely an Asterisk or server-side issue, and it's not
particularly simple to solve either. It would require changes on both
the IP-PBX side as well as firmware in the phones. Asterisk would need
to insert info in the call header to state that it is a call is coming
in to a ring group - do not record this in the phone's call history.
So, the phone's firmware would likely need to be modified to
understand such a message. After that, if the call was unanswered,
Asterisk would need to send a SIP message of some sort to the phones
in the ring group to alert them that the call was missed. At this
point, you're back in a similar seat to where you started really. How
would Agent Foo know if Agent Bar already returned the missed call?

Just my thoughts on the matter...

How is this handled on a non voip pbx system?

I was wondering if any code has been written or what the status is on
the provisioning for manufacturers other than Polycom mentioned in
this thread from early last year:

http://lists.digium.com/pipermail/asterisk-gui/2007-April/000410.html

Working on a project and it would be sweet to get this working for the
Aastra's we're using.

You need the password specified for [admin] in manager.conf
