ug, Still can't figure it out(don't have the other box to test it but can't create the rule)

So i tell a trunk time none, pattern, and then it says for destination (this is where i am stuck at the moment) I want them to be able to dial the outgoing trunk from the other box allong with the number eg. 94323 9 being the trunk and have it go straight through the trunk into the other switch and go to extention 4323 without having to go through a auto-attendant.

So to do this I have been telling the destination field to be "Local Destination by DID" but havn't figured out the pattern thingy it asks for to go with that.

Thankyou Craig.

I will have to check later, since at the moment i only have one server going and I was trying to get my home server connecting to the server that I am testing for my Dad as a possible alternative to our current telephone switch

David,

You need to determine how your telephone company sends in the numbers. This is pretty easy.

1. Go into the asterisk CLI. SSH into your asterisk box with root privileges. Then enter the command "asterisk -vr" from the command line. You should then be in the Asterisk CLI.

2. Dial the number you want to use via your cell phone or another phone that can get to the public exchange.

3. Watch the CLI you should see the number you dialed show up. Most of the time it is a 10 digit number 2051231234

4. Go to the GUI and go to the Incoming Calling Rules tab.

5. Create a new rule.
The Pattern will be _2051231234 (the number you want to handle coming in)
    The time will be "none"
The destination will be either an extension you created, a ring group you created, or an autoattendant you created.

6. Save and "Apply Changes" at the top of the GUI.

That should do it,

I have been struggling at trying to allow dial in by Direct
    In-dial, but
haven't been able to figure out how.

I tell it dial in by DID then I can't figure out the pattern that it
    asks for...

    Any Help?
