I have removed all the dmtfmode= statements from my sip.conf to begin with. Earlier today I downloaded and compiled the latest CVS and from my testing right now it seems to work a lot better.

It looks like I actually removed the line "dtmfmode=inband" from the config in sip.conf. I don't know what the default is.
