What kind of phones are you using? Most phones have a built in backup proxy setting, or can use dns SRV records. We've got two servers set up, and when one dies, the phones are either already registered with the backup server or register immediately when they notice the server isn't responding anymore.

Dear All,

I am using Linux-High Availability between two Asterisk servers, everything is
fine but I do have one problem with this, When a server fails and the other
assumes the ip address and start asterisk on server 2, the ip phone must
re-register themselves again, otherwise the phones won't ring.

Does anyone have Ideas of how to overcome this.

Thx
