Have you tried inserting a "w" in the dial string?
If not, try something like this:
exten => _770XXXX,1,Dial(Zap/g1/w${EXTEN})
Some central office switches don't like the speed at which asterisk
starts sending dtmf. The "w" inserts a small delay before dialing.
