Assuming you're talking about sip phones, what you descibe suggests the phones have not been properly configured and are not registering with asterisk. Do a 'sip show peers'. You should see entries something like this: 3003/3003 2.22.222.1 D 255.255.255.255 5060 Unmonitored 3002/3002 (Unspecified) D N 255.255.255.255 0 Unmonitored where the first entry contains the IP address of the phone that is "registered", and the second entry is a phone/extension that is not registered.
