We encountered the same issue and just
ended up buying a simple TDM400P to handle the timing. Then again, that
was some time ago, and we were never able to get the timing on ztdummy to work
well with the 2.6 kernel. The card was a minor investment for the amount
of money we were saving by avoiding a commercial solution (well over
10k). We are still looking for a way to build a
method to do call-out conferencing and build a web-based interface to it that
uses the management port to create/destroy conferences and set passwords. Scott Miller From:

[mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Steven Langley Hi there I am currently using Asterisk with Meetme on a 2.4 linux
kernel. I am using Ztdummy with usb-uhci driver for timing. It seems to work
ok, although I haven’t tried it with more than 5 users. However, I am now
looking to move into a production environment and some people have said that it
is better to have a Zaptel card. I would be installing Asterisk on a 2.6 linux
kernel for the production server, which wouldn’t require usb-uhci if we
were to go for Ztdummy – but one person seemed to have found problems
with this: http://www.sineapps.com/print.php?rssid=731.
Also, if I were to go for a Zaptel card for timing, would pretty much any FXO
card be suitable? Any advice on what to do would be great. Steven Langley |
