Could you elaborate on that?  Are you speaking in favour of or against 2.6
regarding reduced latency?  Is this a measurable difference in how Asterisk
performs on 2.6 as opposed to 2.4 or more theoretical?

Not exactly. One of the changes between 2.4 and 2.6 is work on reducing
latency: Mainly by preemption. Asterisk needs that quicker response.
