For those of you who wanted to know how the AG-468 (4xFXS) unit work (or it doesn't work), here is my personal experience.
I had a problem from the start. The units ship from the factory set to static IP 192.168.1.200 even though it has a DHCP option in LAN Setting. So if you are on a different sub-net you have to figure out how to set your sub-net to access the unit; and those with less experience in Linux it might take you good few hours to figure it out. Anyhow, the factory insists that the static IP is the correct way doing it but I disagree; especially if you want to connect two units to the same sub-net. The factory insists that the unit works with Asterisk, but I was not able to register the unit with asterisk, doesn't matter how hard I tried. Despite simple configuration, the unit wouldn't register with asterisk even with their tech. support instructions. Their manual is short on detail as well. Another poor design is the "magic button" by the power supply. If pressed by 5sec. it will reset to default IP not the one set from the factory but to 192.168.0.1. Imagine a cleaning lady dusting or rearranging and holding the unit for 5sec.; you come back to work in the morning and none of the 4-phones are working. So, from my experience the unit is not worth consideration, you get better support and manual when you buy few Sipura units. -- #Joseph _______________________________________________ --Bandwidth and Colocation sponsored by Easynews.com -- Asterisk-Users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users To UNSUBSCRIBE or update options visit: http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users
