Ah - so the difference between your setup and mine is that you are using Sangoma (presumably) and I'm using Digium. Looks like the Digium is significantly more efficient then.
It could also be that I'm using Net-SNMP to query my cpu usage and even when the machine is idle, SNMP reports about 20% CPU usage which is incorrect.
