I found the best way to upgrade is install Red Carpet from www.ximian.com. Subscribe to the RH 9.0 channel. And do a complete update. The only drawback is that this method doesn't update the kernel. To do the kernel, ftp the latest kernel from updates.redhat.com. rpm -ivh <latest kernel>.rpm. Change /etc/grub.conf to reflect the newest kernel is the default.
The "Redhat way" way is:
up2date --upgrade-to-release=<release-versision>
The easies way is to cruse on over to www.freshrpms.net and get a copy of "apt" for Redhat and then do a
apt-get dist-upgrade <release-versision>
