im trying to make two asterisk boxes communicate on mgcp protocol only. Anybody has idea how to implement this
This is presently not possible, unless you have some suitable intermediate gateway(s). MGCP is a master-slave protocol. The Call Agents control the Media Gateways. The current version of Asterisk can serve as a Call Agent, but not as a Media Gateway. This means that you can use Asterisk with MGCP phones and MGCP gateways, but not with services such as CallVantage or Free Télécom that utilize MGCP.
