This works for me, your mileage may vary:
in sip.conf add these two lines under the sip user:
mailbox=/[EMAIL PROTECTED]
/notifymimetype=application/simple-message-summary
example for mailbox=
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
The SIP device must support this feature of course.
And if you're not using SIP then I have no idea what to do :)
