Yes there is a way,
you have to compile zaptel and load the ztdummy driver. This driver uses the uhci-usb/ohci-usb (not sure which one) module in your computer for timing source.
So after compiling libpri->zaptle->asterisk, just:

modprobe ztdummy

Is there any way to have conferencing without a zaptel card...  I couldn't
find anything on wiki about that
