Cisco's website does not mention anything about SIP firmware, it says SCCP only perhaps you could play around with CHAN_SCCP.

SIP firmware is not available for the 7970, 7971, 7961, or 7941.

Thanks for the info. Just to make sure: will SIP firmware simply not be
available at all or is it just not yet available?
