The cards I dealt with where ISA cards. We couldn't find a reasonably decent machine with ISA support, which meant I was using a crappy old thing that took ages to compile things on, which meant a lot less productivity on my behalf. So that's pretty much my only problem I encountered with them. Having a single port as well, made it rather impratical in some uses I would of been using them for.
