Yeah, that's a real bummer. Cisco calls that "feature" Monitor mode, ie: you can listen but not speak. Oh so useful!
I'm sure including a microphone would have threatened their whole product line price structure...

The 7905 with a microphone is called the 7912, and is more expensive. Go figure.
