I set registration for line 1 only. You would only set the other lines if you are registering with another server or with a different username. When a second call comes in it shows up under line 2,3 etc. (this works the same for my Snom and Mitel phones)

To get two or more phones to ring when extension 101 is called you would do the following:

sip.conf:

[phone1]
username=phone1
secret=pass1
type=friend
etc....

[phone2]
username=phone2
secret=pass2
etc....

extensions.conf:

exten => 101,1,Dial(SIP/phone1&SIP/phone2)

Hope that helps....

Polycom IP501. So do you set each line to register with the same info then?
Also, does this allow for two phones to have the same extension number and both
get the call? If so then I must have something else wrong because like I had
written, only one phone rings if two are configured for the same extension.

On my 4-line IP phones I can have 4 simutaneous calls come in with only the 1
registration. When a second call comes in you push line 2 and Asterisk starts
music-on-hold on line 1. What kind of IP phones are you using.

I'm trying to figure out how to allow an extension >to register more than once. For instance, I have
>all of these 4 line IP phones that I use with >Asterisk and I would like to have a persons
>extension (say 101) ring at all four lines so that >if the person is on the phone they can take
another >call, but it appears as though if you try to >register the same extension more than once then
the >most recent registration is the only one that works >(this determined by calling that extension
and >seeing which 'line' rings).

This would also be handy for those working from >home, this way their extension
follows them >whereever they are.

Any thoughts on this? From what I have read so far >it appears as though asterisk
cannot do this and I >wondered if anyone else had done something similar.

Thank You!
