Hi,
I am investigating getting a wifi VoIP phone because its may be a
better option than an ATA and a cordless phone..
Does anyone have any experience with the whats out there??
Do they support things like WPA etc??
I have heard the battery life can be a problem.. Is this the case?
I bought some weeks ago an GSM+Wifi phone (Win mobile 5.0+PPCiax) I got
it work in WEP with my Linksys WRT54G - OpenWRT, but not WPA. If WiFi is
always on, battery comes quick down.
Another very important point -don't know if it applies also to real Wifi
phone- is that the phone has _not_ to go in power saving mode to be
reached at each moment as the Wifi part doesn't use the hardware from
GSM :-( eg even in power save mode an incoming GSM call/SMS is accepted.
I went back to my cordless phone.
