Sounds like an SPA 2000/PAP2 to me. (right down to the G.729 working in
only one channel at a time).

I've got an ATA 186 retired and replaced by an Atcom-468 (which will
allow all 4 ports to use G.729 at the same time, and really a lot more
configurable features than the 186).
