I'd just like to note that AEL2 was brought over into Asterisk trunk (what will become 1.4) and the old AEL removed. That's where most development is taking place on AEL2, and why you don't see patches on the bug tracker.
Hi Joshua, I was just reading the bug report and noticed it has been merged. Awesome news! I'm still using 1.2.x so sticking to AEL for now, but I'm going to quickly move to AEL2 as soon as I upgrade to 1.4!
