I know someone who has the Hitachi Wifi phones, I have used it, and as the other posts point out, battery life is a problem. Especially when it gets lost in the couch for a week! ;-)

The other annoyance is that it takes a hit in the conversation when you switch from WAP to WAP, but as long as you're not getting handed back and forth between two WAP's you probably won't even notice.

Some others have suggested that a standard analog cordless is an option, however the problem becomes when the facility itself is larger than the range of the standard cordless since there is only one base. Additionally you can't take your standard cordless to a hotspot and place a call.

Personally I haven't tried the Linksys/Cisco WiFi phones yet, but I'm eagerly anticipating one that would come with a speakerphone. I'll buy the first one that offers it since that's a requirement for me.

I could care less about the color LCD, or browsing the web on the phone, but a good speakerphone built into a cordless WiFi is definitely a requirement that needs to be met before I purchase one.

If anyone out there using VoIP WiFi phones? If so, which ones and what
do you think about it?

Thanks,
