Unlike SRTP this does not rely on the server itself to provide the encryption. It also lets you be reasonably assured that if the numbers displayed match then not only is no one listening now, but they havent since you paired both endpoints.
There is a drawback that SRTP can solve however, zphone only works on voip networks where the media proxy does not alter the data stream, it cannot be used to bridge to different channel types and codecs. This means that if you want to call out on the PSTN, SRTP can encrypt over the internet where zphone cannot. So it has its benefits, but also its drawbacks. > -- Trixter http://www.0xdecafbad.com Bret McDanel Belfast IE +44 28 9099 6461 DE +49 801 777 555 3402 Utrecht NL +31 306 553058 US WA +1 360 207 0479 US NY +1 516 687 5200 FreeWorldDialup: 635378 http://www.trxtel.com the VoIP provider that pays you!
