Stop asterisk and run it from the command line directly(asterisk -vvvvvvvvgc).

Hello there all, i am using an agi python script. It is kinda from an example in the ATOF book ( O'Reilly) it simply answers the phone, receives 5 DTMF digits, and writes those digits to a text file. however, it isn't working.
