On a side note with this topic.
I recently ran into problems hosting an Asterisk box behind a Linksys
4 port Cable/DSL router, the problem was that SIP realy only worked on
it for the first 2-3 minutes. After 2-3 hours of playing around and
blaming the remote routers, I decided to check the latest firmwares
for the router at the Asterisk location. The release notes on the last
firmware had 2 or maybe 3 issues fixed, one of them was problems with
sip.

I seem to remember some issues like that with older firmware on the routers.
It was passing through some traffic but loosing others.  Since I've upgraded
every linksys I deal with to the latest firmware, all similar issues have
disappeared.  You might want to give that a try
